Bio
Dr. Maja Segedi is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UBC Department of Surgery specializing in HepatoPancreatoBiliary (HPB) and Liver Transplant Surgery, as well as Pancreatobiliary endoscopy. She is also a Co-Director of the HPB Fellowship Program at the Vancouver General Hospital.
She graduated from the University of Toronto, obtaining an MD degree in 2005, completed Residency training in General Surgery at the University of British Columbia in 2012 and a Master of Public Health, Quantitative Methods, at Harvard School of Public Health in 2009.
Her current interests lie in the use of machine learning as an adjunct for better decision-making for patients with liver malignancy. In addition, she has performed research and has numerous publications in the field of pancreas cancer, diagnostic assessment of pancreas cystic neoplasms, and ethical issues pertaining to pediatric liver transplantation.
