Resident and Fellowship Training
The division provides postgraduate training to candidates who have completed general surgical Fellowship or Board level training. Optimally, general surgical and cardiovascular and thoracic surgical training are integrated to provide maximum efficiency to the trainee and optimal utilization of hospital and training resources.
The Royal College has also outlined a six-year training program in Cardiac Surgery, but our intention is to offer this only to exceptional candidates whose future focus will emphasize research, administration and/or teaching rather than strictly clinical care.
