In her multiple clinical, research and administrative roles, Dr. Arnaout believes in leveraging technology. At PHSA, she is spearheading the use of AI to address practical pain points for healthcare providers; and is active in setting up a provincial process and infrastructure to support the rapid yet responsible deployment of AI tools across various domains in healthcare, across all health authorities in BC.

Perioperative Clinical Trials in Oncology

Dr. Arnaout co-led a provincial preoperative window of opportunity clinical trials program in Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, which supported the funding and delivery of 14 clinical trials across multiple disease sites across Ontario. Data Science, Data-driven Quality Improvement and Health System Re-Design

Dr. Arnaout believed in empowering a data-centric culture in healthcare. She has co-created a UBC microcertificate in Data Science in Healthcare https://courses.cpe.ubc.ca/browse/ubcv/medicine/dept-of-medicine/programs/healthcaredata and a AI-powered chatbot for access to data at PHSA. Dr. Arnaout also has extensive experience in quality improvement initiatives, as she led the implementation and evaluation of two large scale provincial and national (CPAC) QI initiatives in improving cancer care.
