– Local and system-level interprofessional collaboration
Research Interests:
The aim of my research is to explore and evaluate the interdependence of the roles of healthcare professionals in radiation medicine as they relate to the system-level implementation of innovation and optimizing models of care. This includes the need for collaborative sense-making, standard-setting, knowledge translation, and competency development. My work has spanned consideration of a number of innovations and technologies, including image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), quality and safety standards in radiation therapy, and artificial intelligence (AI) and standardization of big radiotherapy data. I also have a strong interest in building and evaluating frameworks for advanced practice for radiation therapists (APRTs), including the interdependence of educational preparation, certification, role implementation, and regulation.
