BIOGRAPHIC SUMMARY ( Background, Academic Interests and Activities, Clinical Activities )

Dr. Keyes is a Clinical Professor in Radiation Oncology, University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Prostate Brachytherapy Program past QA chair and head of the program 2006 – 2016. She is a Fellow (FABS) of American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), board member, and past education char for ABS and ASTRO Prostate Brachytherapy Workshops.  In 2017, she was awarded ABS Presidents Award, for outstanding contribution to ABS. Dr. Keyes is a Vice-Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada AFC Diploma in Brachytherapy, a Brachytherapy AFC program director at UBC,  former Residency Training Program Director in Radiation Oncology at UBC, and past Royal College examiner.  She is an associate editor for Brachytherapy Journal.

She is a recipient of several UBC awards:  Mentorship Award (2018), Teaching Award (2017), CanMeds of Excellence Award (2104) and AD McKenzie UBC Department of Surgery Clinical Teaching Award 2017,  in 2019, nominated for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Mentorship Award. She is a CARO and BC Cancer wellness committee chair.

Dr. Keyes has been a keynote speaker at international conferences including ESTRO, ASTRO, ABS, CARO, ABG, and MD Anderson.   She is an author of over 90 peer-reviewed manuscripts and recipient of several peer review grants including a CIHR and Michael Smith Foundation grant for translational research in prostate cancer.
