On June 13, 2016 the UBC Department of Surgery gathered together for their annual Academic Year End Celebration. A number of the UBC Department of Surgery Awards were presented and recent graduates were also recognized.

Recent Department of Surgery Award Winners
Dr. Andrew Campbell: Recipient of the A.D. McKenzie Clinical Teaching Award in recognition of outstanding clinical teaching of medical students and residents.
Dr. Paul Moxham: Recipient of the Rocke Robertson Award presented in recognition of outstanding clinical teaching in the MD program acclaimed by undergraduate students.
Dr. Ryojo Akagami: Recipient of the A.D. Forward Postgraduate Faculty Teaching Award in recognition of outstanding teaching acclaimed by surgical residents.
Dr. Julie Sharma: Recipient of the Best Resident Teacher Award.
Dr. Candace Haddock: Recipient of the Holubitsky Memorial Award presented to the surgical resident who demonstrates the highest qualities of surgical excellence.
Dr. Jorga Zabojova: Recipient of the A.W.D. Bill Knox Award to assist a surgical resident in postgraduate surgical studies.
Dr. Shahrzad Joharifard: Recipient of the C.H. Scudamore HPB Award presented to the surgical resident who demonstrates the highest qualities of surgical excellence in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.
