Dr. Reza Jalili (Plastic Surgery) has received a Faculty of Medicine Start-up Award. Dr. Jalili’s research focuses on developing treatments that can heal chronic wounds. Wounds consist of skin and extracellular matrix (ECM). Following an injury, many components of the ECM are impacted resulting in an uneven and rough wound bed. Dr. Jalili aims to identifying the optimal combination of cells and matrix that can lead to effective healing of chronic wound beds. Dr. Jalili works on finding innovative ways to treat chronic wounds.
