Congratulations to Dr. Nadine Caron, (General Surgery) who has won the Royal College of Canada’s Dr. Thomas Dignan Indigenous Health Award.This award acknowledges and celebrates Canadian physicians who epitomize a devotion to Canadian Indigenous rights, and the dogged pursuit of justice for Canada’s Indigenous people. The Royal College Awards committee noted that Dr. Caron’s actions have exemplified such devotion: “Dr. Caron is clearly a leader in the field of Aboriginal Health, and, given not only the value of her work, but the difficulty and the risk involved in its doing, it is particularly important to recognize her accomplishments, as she has done, to effect positive change.”
