Many surgical residents participated the Surgical CRASH Course in October 2016. This is an intense modular 1-month curriculum that emphasizes key cognitive and technical competencies in caring for unstable patients.   Students are expected to rapidly acquire knowledge as well as cognitive and technical skills in the first months of training. This largely simulation-based course helps to prepare these residents to eventually shoulder the immense responsibility of providing care to the hospital’s most complex and unstable patients.

The students also received a different kind of workout during the month by participating in the team building activities at the UBC Ropes course.
